While I've Been pretty quiet on the blog lately, I've been busy this last month preparing artwork for digital prints. Each image was selected from my various series of illustrations over the past few years, carefully scanned at hi-rez and color corrected to match the original artwork as closely as possible. Then printed on 140lb French MuscleTone Paper using an archival ink Epson R2880 printer. I'm very excited to offer these prints in my etsy shop http://www.diskgrunt.etsy.com as of today!!!

Love Birds
I created this image a bit differently then I normally do. It started from a small doodle, as most of my work does, that I then drew a larger version and scanned. Since I do so much screen printing, normally at this point I would painstakingly convert my line work to vector art using the pen tool in illustrator. I know, I know, Live Trace Dude... Maybe I just don't know enough about that tool, but I never feel like it stays true to my actual line work. In this case, I used the following youtube tutorial to quickly and cleanly remove the white from my drawing, leaving only my line. Then I used Photoshop to paint the drawing in. What I really enjoy here, given that my lines are never perfect and clean, it really does look and feel like my hand draw sketches and images. Something that's hard to truly achieve in Illustrator.
Prints are made using my Epson Stylus Photo R2880, with archival inks and on acid free Ultra Premium Presentation Matte Paper. If you like it, you can order up a signed copy up from my shop!

Monsters V. Robots

I mentioned these prints in a previous post but have finally gotten them up into my etsy shop. Each one is hand silkscreened and chronicles the start of the Monster V. Robot wars that are sure to occur once they've finished wiping us out. Each illustration was printed only 10 times, creating 10 sets of the 4 prints, each signed and numbered on the back. You can buy them all together for $120 or pick and choose at $40 per panel. They come with an easy to affix wall hanger and each panel was treated with a light poly coat to protect the image. The plywood is FSC and the inks are non toxic and water based. Everything was hand made by me. You can order them from here.
