Indian Beach 2015

It's been a long time since I've made a post here, I'm currently going through through the books, and scanning and editing, so expect to see more soon. Till then, I thought I'd share this recent sketch I made on an impromptu trip down to the Oregon Coast. Indian Beach is a great little hiden gem for surfers, hikers and beach goers. Just far enough north of canon beach to keep the crowds low, but not so far that it's a hassle to get to.

Finding the Sky in NYC

This is another sketch I did while in NYC. One of the things I've definitely come to take for granted in PDX, is that at night, you can see a lot of the sky. So much so, that I think the light noise is super awful here. Compare that with what you can't see in NYC... and we've got it good.

This was probably also drawn at Whiskey Town, it's sort of become my go to drink and draw spot when in the city.

This is another one I'm debating about cleaning up and coloring in, though part of me likes it in this form.

Burro

After helping move the company I work for, then move my girlfriend I'm now getting set to move myself. I really do feel like burro in the drawing above... I do hope to ink and color this drawing someday but for now, this will have to do.

Cross Pollenating

There are two things I certainly don't draw enough of these days, women and pleasant moments. So to help fill the gap... here's both. I hope to do some digital ink and paint on this one. I'll post an up date when I think it's ready.

Robo Attack

Sometimes Robots do attack... and sometimes they have laser beam eyes... This is important to note. If you see a giant robot outside your window that running up to the roof top to wave hello might not always be the best idea.

This image started so nicely, a forest of triangle trees, but then the dragon with the cleft chin showed up and burned it all down. =( Sorry trees...

I've been to two funerals in my life along with 3 wakes and the way we reshape, paint and display our dead has always bothered me. The empty vessels sitting still in the caskets, wearing suits they never would have bought, hair done up in a different style and faces covered in makeup they most certainly would never have worn, never brought me much solace or comfort when seeing them.

I've been practicing drawing people on the fly, in public and quick. Something that hasn't always been a big strength of mine. Most of my people drawing are composites of features I have stored up in my head of other people, not any one person specifically. The three folks above happened to have the misfortune of sitting in my eye range this past weekend. Note the Kool-Aid ® Man was not in the coffee shop, yet somehow ended up in the conversation and thusly on the page...Oh yeah.

Giggles - November B-Day Drunk Drawing - Risque?

So back in Nov, I had a shared my bday party with co-worker Nonnie. We forced people to doodle around these concepts, "Num-Num" and "Giggles". The Num Num drawings are posted here, including the most recent scans of the missing second pad. This batch here, is "Giggles" and I must warn that it ended up being mostly penises... Also someone drew another "Num Num" drawing... I guess several tequila shots and drawing pads brings out the best in personal expression =)
