Holiday Gift - Scarfs Process Video

A few months back I posted a couple of Bee drawings.. coffee table and sketch book. From those little doodles eventually birthed this years holiday gift.

I'm big on story telling, both emotional & literal. So this year, as last year, the pieces each spoke about the relationship of the wearers to each other. Boys and no kid having men, Bee's. Girls and no kid having women, flowers. Dad's, Mom's & Grandparent's each received combo scarfs, half either bee's or flowers and the other half a Bee Hive. All scarfs had a subtle yellow honeycomb pattern under the chocolate brown print.

I'll be posting more pictures soon but thought for now, a little process showcase was in order. Enjoy!

Holiday Cards - 2008

Last year I doodled out the following sketch that resulted in a series of shirts and a digital holiday card.
I decided that this year I would revise the holiday card and make it into something tangible. So first thing I did was fix the font, then gathered up some screens, some paper and a lot of time. The end result, about 100 A2 sized 3 color silk screened cards that I mailed out to everyone I had an address for, and hand delivered to those close enough. I hope everyone enjoyed them. Special thanks to Curious Doodles for her help and the glamor shots below.

M.I.A.

I've been really busy the past two months and getting a lot of use out of my silk screen press. From helping Curious Doodles with her Calendar project to getting a few works of my own done. Needless to say, posting has drifted into the not so daily-ish realm. I hope to remedy that during the month of January and will be posting more about my projects as the day progresses. Thanks for staying tuned!
