One of the works I'll be showcasing at this upcoming first thursday event with Handmade NW over at 17th an Lovejoy on June 4th... This is a wholefoods catering tray, stained and screen printed on and possibly already sold...More teaser to come.

*Update* This item is now on my Etsy page for sale. If you're in PDX convo me on Etsy and we'll work out a no ship transfer ( just better that way)

wow that is pretty cool :D how did you render the figure on the wood? did you just paint that on with a brush?

I actually screen printed it on. A bit much for a single item but I think it gave it a feel that a brush wouldn't have and also freed me to be a bit more loose with the end result. You can see the screen was a bit stressed in spots that resulted in a nice distressed feel to the print. I did do a stain and paint self portrait a few post back. Acrylics take well to the MiniWax PolyStain and the WholeFoods Catering trays make perfect size canvases. Thanks for the feedback!
